Looking to get spooked? Well, here are some things you could do this Halloween season!

Hello all you excited witches and vampires, it’s that time of year again. Dust off those broomsticks, heat up those cauldrons and get ready to have some fun cause Dubuque and Clarke has numerous attractions for all types of ghouls during the Halloween Season!

 

  1. IREAD Trick or Treat for UNICEF

Monday October 28               4:00 – 5:30pm

Want to volunteer for Halloween and prove all your hearts aren’t completely coal? Then go to the Dubuque Country Library event and fundraiser for UNICEF to provide clean water and food, necessities, and school supplies for kids in need. You will need to bring a costume and Kurt Wagner, a local author will be reading a picture book called “Anthony’s Happy Halloween” and then at 5:00 – 5:30 pm will be some trick or treating.

 

  1. Ooey Gooey Halloween Fun

Monday October 28               3:00 – 4:30pm

Want to make a mess, well Allison-Henderson Park is holding a science based event where kids and adults can have fun with science and sensory activities involving pumpkin guts, monster stew, and much more.

 

  1. Dubuque Halloween Parade

Monday October 28,              6:30 – 8:30

This self-proclaimed Spooktacular is back again this year and will weave through downtown Dubuque starting at Jackson Park and end at Washington Square Park. See floats, costumes, loud music, and lots of candy.

  1. Haunted Hill & Costume Contest

Wednesday 30                        6:00 – 8:30pm

This is a big paint party! Dress up in costumes for a chance to get a $30 gift certificate! Relax and get inspired to paint some spooky paintings. Please register beforehand, but walk-ins are welcome.

 

  1. Skinny Maginny’s Halloween Party

Wednesday October 30          9:00pm – 1:00am

For those above 21, enjoy cocktail specials and a bar full of ghosts and ghouls! There will be a toast at midnight to celebrate All Hollow’s Eve! There will be costume prizes!

 

  1. Dark Chambers -Haunted House

Thursday October 31, Friday November 1, Saturday November 2

Back for the 9th year in a row, Dark Chambers is offering many nights of terror for the public. This year, there is a forest haunt at 1342 Frontage Rd Kieler WI. Admission is only $5 for a light fright starting at 6:00om and $15 for a full scare beginning at 7:00pm. A truly terrifying Halloween event that will get those hearts pumping, possibly stopping.

Thursday October 31              8:00am

CAB has scattered clues all over campus that will lead you to a candy treasure, use those Scooby-doo training from you childhood and sniff out that hardened sugar! Candy is the prize, and there will be free food!

 

  1. Pumpkin Painting with PB&J

Thursday October 31              4:00

After the long week of PB&J activities involving Dancing and lectures about Domestic Abuse, PB&J are hosting a pumpkin painting session in Foley Lounge along with warm drinks and maybe free stuff. Relax and paint the perfect pumpkin for your dorm!

  1. Culinary Club Halloween Cookie Bash

Thursday October 31              8:00

Welcome the new Culinary Club by participating a costume contest and cookie bash! Decorate cookies? Baking cookies? Eating Cookies? Come to find out what tasty events they have planned!

  1. Monster Dash 5K/10K Halloween Run

Saturday November 2             10:00 am – 12:00pm

Got to run off that candy bag in your gut? Dress up in your scariest costume and join in the Monster Dash 5K to win prizes and swag. It is the first annual Platteville Community Arboretum 5K run/run and is sure to “put the fright in your feet.”
